Heart Rate Monitor, what's that?

.... I'm FINALLY training with my heart rate monitor.  Learning at least.  Now just have to go get a new VO2 max completed so I can have accurate rates to train with.

Ahhhhh, the seasons of life, .....

Ahhhh, the seasons of life, the paths are full of fog, kind of like driving on a cold morning in fog on the back roads, and WHOOOOAH THERE'S A DEER!!!!! You hit a tree or you suddenly steer off the path and wonder which road to take to get back on,... and then suddenly your lost! And you think, wow, which road do I take?! Each road takes you to a TOTALLY different destination?? Which do you choose? Life is kind'a like that sometimes. But where do you want to be at the END of the road you CHOOSE?  That is the ultimate question to help you answer which road to take. HA!  But oh my god, I still can't see.  WHOOA, ANOTHER DEER!  Yeah, I forgot to mention, it might take awhile for the fog to clear to see the entrance of the right road to take. Wisdom, blue sky and sunshine, ahhh the seasons again, they will help you choose the right road.

A Nice Off Season Fall Triathlon Weekend

Was a fabulous out of the ordinary Fall day today here in Minnesota.  60 degrees and Sunny!  Went for a run and then off to Minnesota's Triathlon Award Night this evening, just to realize even more what an amazing triathlete community we really do have here in Minnesota.  Was an inspirational night as usual.

Wow, did NO work out today...... that's called BUSINESS LIFE

Had a GREAT start of a work week today, but oops, no work out :)

Yeah, that's called the wondeful world of "where did this day go" career world, and HOLY COW, it's 10pm?  I thought it was like 7pm!   And oh, I still don't have half the things I wanted to get done today finished and suddenly it is now 12:43am.  Welcome to a hard days work and life as an entrepreneur who may have to jump on the treadmill at 1am during Ironman training season, just to get that workout in, HA!
Yep, that will be me!  Hard work and no play for awhile, but ohhhhhh so worth it in the end!   :)

Run ~ Bike ~ Swim

I forgot what it was like to feel PAIN for awhile there!  Starting up in the beginning of base training after taking it easy for 6 weeks (ummm, yeah that might have been a little to long to go easy on myself) is definitely whip'n my booty.  Pain in the legs, Pain in the arms, Pain in the booty, Pain in the abs, Pain in some muscles I forgot I even had in my body after JonnyJ Strength training last week that I'm STILL hurting from, and even a little Pain in the heart goin on, ....  but I'm TOUGH and I GOT MY HELMET ON!  ;-)

oooooo yeah, had to change that 1st week plan, due to "I CAN'T MOVE" .... LOL

Yeah, that's right.  Sure enough, Jonny J's strength training class this past Wed prooved brutal as usual.  It's the 2nd day after, and it's so painful to roll out of bed, sit up off a chair, or move my arms, that I had to adjust my workout plans this week.  Ibuprofen and going to try to do some type of endurance workout today to loosen those soar muscles up (I'm trying to determine which muscles are the "least" soar of all to pick swim, bike or run today).

Back at it .....

Took a little end of season break with a few light workouts a week incorporated in, and now back to a training plan today!  I found that creating a weekly plan helps me stay committed and seems to work better with my busy schedule if my workouts are planned.  November and December will be strength and core training and long slow endurance (base training).  And my kitchen is stocked with good healthy foods (lots of fresh fruit, nuts, skim cottage cheese, all natural fruit juices, wholegrain bread, wholegrain rice, wholegrain pasta, lean meat (nothing processed) and fresh vegetebles, and organic grown potatoes).

Today I signed up for 2010 Ironman Wisconsin!

Had a wonderful trip to Ironman Wisconsin 2009, seeing lots of friends and fellow tri club members of mine tackle Ironman, many being thier first!  I had the  opportunity to volunteer in a spot where I saw every single one of them go by and cheered them on, including my special man in my life.  I also had the opportunity to tag along to a lot of the preperation days to see how everything works!  Today I got up early, at the crack of dawn, and had a great morning walk back to the Ironman site near the Capital in Madison, grabbed a quadruple espresso Latte for the long line, and tied the knot on my committment to next year!  Planning begins!
